Western Stage Review

Editorial policy

Western Stage Review aims to explain theatre-making choices plainly and accurately. We distinguish general suggestions from matters that depend on a particular production, and we make corrections when we find an error.

Accuracy and useful detail

We check names, terminology and factual statements before publication, and take care not to present a personal preference as a universal rule. Where an idea depends on a company's circumstances, we say so. Articles should give readers enough context to understand what a suggestion can and cannot do.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such, and its presence does not guarantee favourable coverage. We do not accept payment in exchange for an undisclosed editorial endorsement.

Corrections and illustrations

Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the claim and correct material when warranted, making the change clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that applies, the illustration is labelled.
